The Bishop Paiute Tribe is building and will own its fiber-optic network across the reservation. This site tracks install progress across the community and lets residents check availability and request an install appointment online.
A few photos from a real install — tap any of them for a closer look.
Go to Schedule, pick an open day, and tap your house on the map so we know exactly which home is yours. Fill in your name, phone, and address, then send your request — we'll confirm it from our end.
Yes. Someone 18 or older needs to be present for the entire appointment, since our crew will need access inside your home for the whole visit.
We'll mount a small equipment box on the outside of your house, then run about 30 linear feet of ethernet cable indoors to a jack location. That jack has to be on an exterior wall, and wherever it ends up will also determine where your router or access point sits, so it's worth thinking about ahead of time.
This appointment covers the equipment at your house, so we'll need access inside your home for the whole visit. Separately — sometimes months later, the timing varies — a different crew will come by to run the underground fiber cable from the street to the equipment box we installed outside your house. That crew does not need access inside your home, but we'll give you advance notice before any work happens on your property.
Rescheduling and cancellations are currently handled on our end rather than self-service — contact Brandon Haug at (760) 582-2505 and we'll take care of it.
Install status and general location are visible on the public map, but your name, phone number, and notes are only ever visible to the install team — never to the public.
Placing your router in a central, open spot (not a closet or corner) usually helps the most. If you have a larger home or rooms with weak signal, a mesh wifi system can even out coverage, and powerline ethernet adapters or a USB wifi adapter can help in spots that are hard to reach wirelessly.
